I seriously can not believe that our little boy is 22 months old!!! He will be 2 in 2 months!!! The time seriously flies by! I am just trying to enjoy each day for what it is. I've recently been reminded how blessed we are to have such a precious, healthy little guy, so even if he's throwing a tantrum or embarrassing me in public, I'm trying to be grateful. :) I am so thankful for my husband who works so hard so I can stay home with our little guy, what a blessing it is to spend so much time with my precious boy.
This last weekend, Mother's Day weekend, Curt's parents (Papa and Mimi) came to visit. So, we took Owen to the Children's Museum. He absolutely had a blast at the tot spot. It's an area for kids who are 2 years old and younger. He was not happy when we had to leave.
We also had plenty of pool and water play time in the back yard that weekend. He still loves it when we put bubbles in the pool...so funny!
This next picture is Sunday morning (Mother's Day). Owen loves to play with Daddy's belts, shoes, ties, etc....anything of Daddy's he loves!!!
He has also outgrown a bunch of his shoes, so his Honey and Grandaddy (my Mom and Dad) got him some new tennis shoes this week...we went to the Galleria to get them so we had to go see the fountain of course. He loves to watch the water fall from the ceiling. He also loves that he always gets a balloon at Nordstrom.
We got a membership to the Children's Museum, so we went back this week. It's so fun for him and also usually wears him out so he takes a great nap, which is nice for Mommy. :)
One of O's latest funny quirks is that he loves his footed, fleece, Christmas pajamas. If he sees them in his closet, he will freak out until I put them on him...so random and so funny. I don't know where he gets this bizarre obsession with all things Christmas...it must be genetic.
This weekend we took Owen to breakfast at Barnaby's - one of our favorite places that we don't get to much now that we live in Sugar Land...I absolutely love lazy weekends with my two boys.
Then, we took Owen to ride the train at Hermann Park. We haven't taken him before, but because he is so obsessed with trains (especially Thomas the Train) we thought he would love it. He was so excited as we walked up and he could hear the train whistle blowing. He kept saying very excitedly "choo choo!!!"
Here he is waiting, impatiently, in line.
When we finally got on the train, he was so frustrated that it didn't start right away...so we had to get real creative to entertain him while it just sat there. He was super excited once it started, but once he heard this whistle, he did this and pretty much stayed this way for the rest of the train ride.
I guess it was a little louder than he (or we) expected and it really scared him. We felt so bad! He lifted his head up a few times, but basically sat like this for twenty minutes. He was finally comfortable with it by the end and was very upset when we got off the train. And, of course you have to exit by walking through the gift shop, which is full of Thomas the train toys and accessories. We practically ran through in the hopes he wouldn't notice.
Then we took Mr. O. to play in the water by the big fountain in Hermann Park. He absolutely loved it!!! So funny! I think we'll be spending lots of time in the water this summer. So, we'd better start stocking up on sunscreen for our fair-skinned, red headed little man.
Hope everyone is having a blessed week. Looking forward to a three day weekend at home with my sweet family this weekend!
