Memorial Day Weekend

We hope everyone has had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.  We were really looking forward to a relaxing weekend at home and it has been just that!  On Friday, our sweet little guy was very anxious for Daddy to get home.

Here is a video of him asking me where he was:

On Friday night we just hung out as a family...so nice to have some time together.  Then, on Saturday evening we had our friends Heidi and David over with their sweet little boy who is about Owen's age.  The boys played and played in the baby pool in our backyard and then we put the kids to bed and got to hang out...so fun!

On Sunday afternoon we went over to our friends, the George's, house with our other friends the Pasche's.  The two girls are a little younger than Owen, but he didn't seem to mind.  He loved playing with all their toys and we had so much fun going to their neighborhood pool, having dinner, and just hanging out.  We are so thankful that we have made so many sweet friends through our church.

I wish Betsy was in this picture!!! :)

On Monday, we went to breakfast at Einstein's with our sweet boy.  He is so obsessed with his Daddy right now, and always prefers to sit with him over me.  It really doesn't hurt my feelings because I want these two to be really close!!!

After breakfast we went to our neighborhood pool and Owen had so much fun playing in the water.  Afterward, we brought him home and he took almost a four hour nap!!!  Crazy little boy was wiped out!

We hope everyone had a safe and wonderful weekend.  Can you believe it's almost June?!  Hello Summer!

22 Months?!?!

I seriously can not believe that our little boy is 22 months old!!!  He will be 2 in 2 months!!!  The time seriously flies by!  I am just trying to enjoy each day for what it is.  I've recently been reminded how blessed we are to have such a precious, healthy little guy, so even if he's throwing a tantrum or embarrassing me in public, I'm trying to be grateful. :)  I am so thankful for my husband who works so hard so I can stay home with our little guy, what a blessing it is to spend so much time with my precious boy.

This last weekend, Mother's Day weekend, Curt's parents (Papa and Mimi) came to visit.  So, we took Owen to the Children's Museum.  He absolutely had a blast at the tot spot.  It's an area for kids who are 2 years old and younger.  He was not happy when we had to leave.

We also had plenty of pool and water play time in the back yard that weekend.  He still loves it when we put bubbles in the pool...so funny!

This next picture is Sunday morning (Mother's Day).  Owen loves to play with Daddy's belts, shoes, ties, etc....anything of Daddy's he loves!!!

He has also outgrown a bunch of his shoes, so his Honey and Grandaddy (my Mom and Dad) got him some new tennis shoes this week...we went to the Galleria to get them so we had to go see the fountain of course.  He loves to watch the water fall from the ceiling.  He also loves that he always gets a balloon at Nordstrom.

We got a membership to the Children's Museum, so we went back this week.  It's so fun for him and also usually wears him out so he takes a great nap, which is nice for Mommy. :)

One of O's latest funny quirks is that he loves his footed, fleece, Christmas pajamas.  If he sees them in his closet, he will freak out until I put them on him...so random and so funny.  I don't know where he gets this bizarre obsession with all things Christmas...it must be genetic.

This weekend we took Owen to breakfast at Barnaby's - one of our favorite places that we don't get to much now that we live in Sugar Land...I absolutely love lazy weekends with my two boys.

Then, we took Owen to ride the train at Hermann Park.  We haven't taken him before, but because he is so obsessed with trains (especially Thomas the Train) we thought he would love it.  He was so excited as we walked up and he could hear the train whistle blowing.  He kept saying very excitedly "choo choo!!!"

Here he is waiting, impatiently, in line.

When we finally got on the train, he was so frustrated that it didn't start right away...so we had to get real creative to entertain him while it just sat there.  He was super excited once it started, but once he heard this whistle, he did this and pretty much stayed this way for the rest of the train ride.

I guess it was a little louder than he (or we) expected and it really scared him.  We felt so bad!  He lifted his head up a few times, but basically sat like this for twenty minutes.  He was finally comfortable with it by the end and was very upset when we got off the train.  And, of course you have to exit by walking through the gift shop, which is full of Thomas the train toys and accessories.  We practically ran through in the hopes he wouldn't notice.

Then we took Mr. O. to play in the water by the big fountain in Hermann Park.  He absolutely loved it!!!  So funny!  I think we'll be spending lots of time in the water this summer.  So, we'd better start stocking up on sunscreen for our fair-skinned, red headed little man.

Hope everyone is having a blessed week.  Looking forward to a three day weekend at home with my sweet family this weekend!

Reorganized pantry!!!

So, I keep seeing all these pictures on pinterest of beautiful, organized pantries...so I finally decided to reorganize ours.  It took a few hours and I had to throw out some expired canned goods (yikes!)...but I got it done and I'm so pleased with the end result.  Now, I have to move on to the guest room closet...its a bit of a disaster...ugh

Makes me so happy. :)

Happy May!

Oh my goodness!  I don't know if I'm ready for the heat of a Houston summer!  But, ready or not, here it comes!  We are spending lots of time playing in the water outside and cooling off in the A/C with inside activities too. :)

Owen loves to "read" books in the chair in his room, so I find him like this quite a bit.

Owen and I took off to San Antonio last week to spend a few days with my parents and had so much fun!

And this week, I finally caved and got him a Thomas the Train backpack...it goes everywhere with us, even the grocery store...

And here is my solution to a very grumpy toddler, a bubble pool!!!  Boy, were we glad when Daddy got home that day!

Here's our sweet boy babbling to Honey and Grandaddy at the Guenther house while we waited for a table for breakfast. :)

We feel so blessed to have such a happy, busy little boy!
